Engine swap from 2.6l to 5.0l
Hi I have just brought an e500 wreck and I am going to change everything over into my e240. The car has been sitting for a few years. What should I look at replacing while the engine and gearbox are out. Also what fuel pump should I use. I will be building it later. But I want to get it all running in my shell before I start tinkering with it.

Everything in these cars is integrated into a distributed network system including an embryo of security.
The more components you transfer from doner wreck over to existing chassis, the less headaches you'll get to code modules into the system.
"Transferring modules" is no picnic...:
> Activating compatible modules requires Xentry computer plus related expertise, online account.
> Adding foreign modules requires the above plus Vediamo plus wizardry and time.
The learning curve is steep! Try to find similar project threads to guide yourself to solutions.
