nav/command for 2003 e class

sup guys im new to the board, and i have a question. i think im going to buy a 2003 e320 and i saw many pictures of the interior and stuff. does this car come with comand as standard?? the screen looks very small, like as in not big enough to display a map. i like comand because of the map. can anyone shed some light on this, like one of the guys who already have an 2003 eclass in europe? and whats the deal with the DVD?

also i saw some pictures of the nav area with a little trap door where a tape player goes but the screen is really small and then i saw pictures of a nav system on the new e class where there is no trap door for a tape player and the screen is big. whats the deal with that and can we get it with no tape ?

thx

dave

a few answers

Nav is not standard, look for it to cost around $2200 bucks...it will be DVD on the E class, and the screen will be a decent size to show a map...bad news is, the system is delayed until first quarter of 2003 and you loose cassette, but get an in dash cd (which you cant use if you want to use the navigation function, i.e. you cant have navigation and cd at the same time, unless you get the changer as well)

the sports package will be an AMG body, the rims will most likely be AMG as well...as of now it looks like you get two chrome AMG tips as well

Unhappy sadly

if you want nav you have to wait....no other factory options, and upgrading would not be cost effective, those who have tried to do it with the current nav offered by mercedes talk of 6-10k to install it depending on dealer....it should be worth the wait though, this new system looks great.

wait a sec... so no nav is offered at all until first quarter 2003? or is only standard nav available and when it becomes 2003 they start offering dvd nav.

so if i orderd my car tomorrow i would not be able to order any type of nav not even normal standard nav?

ok.....

there is no "standard" nav....there is just the one option of the DVD nav system which will be only available as of the first quarter of 2003....so if you want nav you have to wait....I'm afriad
