Comand Unit Help Needed!!!
Last night I was able to change my head unit to W211_ECE so that I am now able to play DVD's. They will not play while driving but that is OK by me.
So now I have lots of questions. There are many menu items that are now available that were not before. Or mabye they were and I didnt notice, but I am hoping I can get some clairification now.....
When I press the SERV button there now is a choice labled "WEP". This seems to be internet access but I do not know how to use it. All the settings are European but I would like to be able to use it if I can. Can anyone help with that?
Also there is now a button labled "Mail". I am guessing that this is for email? When I press that button it says "TeleAid SIM in use". Does anyone know what that means?
Is there any way for me to get access to these new options? It is nice to be able to play DVD's now but I would like to try these other things to!!!
Thanks for any help in advance.

They are for use with European set-ups. Not sure what. Maybe someone in Europe can enlighten us.
However...you do now have some radio options available that were not there with the US version.
The mail on my comand unit is for reading SMS messages fom the mobile phone.
Don,t know about WAP E-mail because I don,t subscribe to WAP on my mobile phone.......may able to read E-mail also ? ? ? .

WAP is a set of protocols used to transfer data to wireless devices. WAP-enabled devices provide wireless users with a limited version of the Web designed to work on the small black and white screens of phones and PDAs.
Websites accessed by WAP phones must be re-written to satisfy the wireless application protocol; in order to do that, Web pages written in HTML must be transferred to the WAP markup language (WML). Internet browsers like Netscape and Internet Explorer read pages in HTML, while a microbrowser on a WAP-enabled device reads pages in WML.
Major websites like Yahoo and Amazon.com have carefully designed their WAP sites to look and feel much like their wired counterparts, while search engines like Google are transferring pages from HTML to WML so they can be accessed by wireless users.
Thanks to everyone else. It looks like I wont be using the WAP since I dont have the phone installed. One strange thing though.... Before I changed the head unit to 211_ECU, every time I pressed the phone button it said "Phone Not Installed" , now when I go to the phone it says "Please Insert Phone". Could this mean that I just need the hardware and I can use this feature? How hard is it to install the phone?
Oh, the other great thing about changing the head unit is that now I get the lables for the radio stations that broadcast them.
Even though I cant use the DVD while driving it is still a great feature to have!!!
