Light Switch "lights"

Before I start tearing up the dash panel to see if my light switch lights are defective, can someone confirm that the symbols
around the light switch illuminate. i.e. auto, headlight symbol etc.

The actual switch illuminates. I'll ask how to remove the panel after someone confirms it's supposed to light up. TIA

Pardon my ignorance, but what's MB WIS?

I found it MB Workshop Information System.

So now I know how to replace the switch. My question remains, do the symbols above the switch illuminate or not?

Not backlit, only center rotary knob & fog light indicators (when on) are illuminated.

Thank you Konigstiger. It was a relatively simple question, amazing it went unanswered.
Everything works as it should on my '09, just wasn't sure about the light switch.

Thanks again.
