My car was destroyed!

The black one in the back is mine. It was in the repair shop for weeks after the electrical system was somehow damaged during the hurriance (in PA) a few weeks ago. The car was just sitting in our driveway and there was no flooding (we live on a hill) but it rained 10+ inches.

At any rate there was a fire at our local MB dealership this morning and aparently all the cars in the service bay were destroyed!

Sorry for your loss. At least no one was hurt. Keep us updated on how the dealer will settle this and what car you will get as a replacement.

It it very unfortunate. However I'm not all that upset. I did though a few weeks ago replace the tires with brand new ones which but I am sure that cost to me will be reimbursed by the insurance company.

The car was leased, approx 22 months left on the lease. I'm not sure what I want to replace it with, I'm thinking maybe a 4matic with NAV but still not sure. I've always been a MB person, dating back to the late 80's and a 420 SEL of course I've downsized in recent years as the kids have grown up.

I might take a look at other brands out there just to see what's available. I'm in no rush though at the momment as I have been driving my son's car who is at college anyway the past few weeks while my car has been in for service.

I would be counting my blessings. Like Adam said, good way to get out of a lease and start all over in a new car.

Estimated $1 million in damage; (1) Disgruntled employee – it started in the parts department. Or (2) Insurance job - when was the dealership remodeled last? Great Tony Soprano move, the Fire Marshall does not suspect foul play. Anyway the why and how is of no concern to you, the very best of luck with your replacement.

I got my car at R&S Ft Washington too. A great deal, but omigod, what a horrid looking place! Old, uphill & downhill, low ceilings, the "public" bathrooms were in the dealership's office area... like an old De Soto or Studebaker showroom. The new place will probably be a palace, and your new car will thrill you too! Do not dispair! New is fun. New is good.

Yeah, that was some decrepit place for an MB Dealership! I guess they were too busy moving product to notice. I thought my deal was awesome too. (Ordered an '04 the week after pricing was on their computers & STILL got a great price while NY/LI dealers were only knocking off $300 from STICKER!) Thats why I made the trip from Long Island.
