If I have my indie install a new shifter does it need to be coded to the car?

Replace with same part # should be plug & play if purchased used may need to clear all stored fault codes. I believe part # is 2112672524 need VIN to confirm.

Bought a junkyard shifter.
swapped it. Seems to be solved.

Roughest part was the c clip install
