Transmission

Transmission has a shudder at lower reva when trans is cold, after about 15 minutes of running it runs as normal, is this an indication the transmission needs changed or what else’s can be checked?

2005 E320 CDI,
I also have this issue, where it shudders when accelerating. Once I'm up to speed, everything is good. Issue only happens when starting off.
I took it to an MB Indy and they said i needed a new bearing midway on driveshaft.
I haven't had the work done yet, other transmission issues at the moment.

150,000 Miles, changed out trans mounts and torque convertor solenoid valve about 18 months ago.
Dealer ship reported that the torque convertor has some bluing on it and they cannot just change out the torque convertor due to age of vehicle (2010) so need new transmission, low cost of $12,000. Can this trans be switched out as a DIY? Pretty mechanically inclined just never messed with transmission.

What exactly do you mean by bluing? There's probably a conductor plate that can be changed out and also changing the transmission fluid/making sure the level is correct before going with the new transmission route. Also did you get the car scanned for transmission error codes? I think there are places that rebuild conductor plates and also you can find just torque converters out there.

No transmission error codes, when they say bluing they mean over heating of the plates.
