Parktronic Off Button in Center Console Not Working.

I have a 2006 e55 that had Parktronic retrofitted at some point before I bought the car. Everything regarding Parktronic works except for the Parktronic off button in the shifter bezel.

When I bought the car, it came without the Parktronic off button so I sourced one and installed it. It did not do anything. I have since swapped 2 different switches in (both pulled from cars where the function worked) and nothing happens.

I was thinking that maybe, since the previous owner didn’t have the button, is it possible that the car has been programmed to disregard the off button and always have the system on? Any help in understanding what’s going on with my car is much appreciated. Thanks

Get a scanner, like iCarsoft MB V2.0, so you can see if that button actually works.
