E320 W211 chokes on start, betters when warm

Hi guys. I have a 2003 E320 and for several months now I've been trying to resolve an issue with a terrible choking when first starting from cold. The car starts immediately but if I press the gas it chokes severely yet the choking lessens as the car warms up. I have cleaned injectors, replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, MAF sensor (twice) and just can't get rid of the problem. I checked fuel pressure at engine and it reads 50. A mechanic who has tried to help says pressure should be higher than 50, that 50 is for a 4 cylinder motor. Is that true? What is the adequate fuel pressure for this car? If I spray carb cleaner into the MAF sensor the car accelerates perfectly so I am guessing it's related to the fuel pressure from the pump. The pump is aftermarket as getting original Mercedes parts here is almost impossible (I'm in Venezuela). I'm at my wit's end on this because I really don't know what else to check. There is no secondary inline fuel filter on this car, right? I appreciate any help anyone can provide.
