He's missing a good explanation of what housing he's talking about. Did you have the car scanned for MB specific codes? And you'll have to be bit more specific than saying it dies. The car runs fine and then doesn't start or is it running and then dies? You need to give a blow by blow account of the actual problem and describe it accurately. Saying it doesn't work isn't very descriptive. For instance if it doesn't start after stopping, a common problem is the crankshaft position sensors or the camshaft sensors. Getting it scanned or checking the sensors might help. For EIS problems, usually the key doesn't turn in the ignition but if it turns, it's probably not EIS. And if the starter cranks but the car doesn't start, then it's probably not the starter. You might start by trying a different mechanic. You also have the 2006 with the bad balance shafts but that would typically throw a code and the timing is usually off so it runs badly but doesn't die. Unless you ignored the CEL, then eventually the timing gets so bad that the car won't start. Again, you need to get a scanner that can read MB specific codes. The Autel AP200 is cheap, only around $50 on Amazon and does do MB codes.
