Can't set clock through COMAND :(

Anyone experience this? When I went to the menu to set the time, I noticed it was waaaaay off. When I set the correct time, the clock on the dash didn't respond.

I already set my husband's clock with no problems.

Yet another trip to the dealer?

Try this: turn off the option to synchronize the head unit and the clock. It appears in the display. Go to the headunit and set the time. It should allow both hours and minutes to be set. Then go back to the options and reactive the synchronization with the headunit. This is what I did just two days ago, and it worked.

Same thing happened to me this morning. I tried coming at it from another angle. Still in the settings menu, I set the country to USA, the time zone to Pacific, checked the auto daylight savings time box, and told it to set the time automagically.

Worked! And now I don't think I'll have to touch it again.

Time for a Change

It is confusing! It took me a couple attempts to change the time. I followed the directions in the manual. You would think that it would sync with the satellite. The SL is easier than the E to set. I guess I am a little slow.

I thought that the satellite sync was only for the minutes & that you could only set the hours manually. But I'm gonna look into setting USA/time zone/DST later!!!

I had started a thread the last time that we changed, and on the E, we have to set it manually. But, as has been mentioned, you should be able to change it in the MFD settings to sync with the clock setting when you press the SERV button. I have done this twice, and the clock on the dash immediately does some gyrations and changes the clock.

I remember it was somewhat of a hassle to change it on my friends 2003 E without Nav or the new full COMAND head unit.

Sorry, I didn't know it was different between the SL and the E. How many variations on COMAND are there, anyway?

I don't know the answer to that one, but my SL and E are different. There are different menu options and soft keys. They are substantially similar in use and operation. (Thank G-d)

OK. so on the dash, u set the clock & command to sync, then u go to comand & set the time (hours only). The hands will take off & set the dash clock in less than 8 seconds.

My wife and I were on a trip the morning after the time change and as we were driving, I asked her to check the manual for instruction--but I figured it out before she found it. I pressed the SERV button; then the Time soft key; used the arrow to move the hour back one; and hit OK. Then, the analog clock on the dash spun around backward one hour and all was OK.

Barry,

where on the on the dash do you set the clock & command to sync? I went to the comand & set the time (hours only) but nothing happened.
Tried a couple of times even changing to a different time. Any other ideas?

I think we must all understand that there are different versions of the COMAND. (I hope I'm right) In Europe COMAND comes with Navigation. (Full stop)

Am I correct in thinking that in the US COMAND you have to pay to have the Navigation option?? This will then explain the differing advice on setting the clock.

Why it cannot be automatically altered is 'very quaint'

Regards,
John

Now why does Comand ask how you want the day & daye to be displayed (MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, etc) if the date is never displayed anywhere, and the date info is of no use to the car? I mean, If its not displayed anywhere, who cares how it isn't displayed?

Yeah, how do you get the time to display on the COMMAND screen? The passenger never knows the time unless I tell them?
