headunit android

I make a lot of use of your contributions. I hope this will be of use to some.

I recently changed my original head unit for an Android.
After reading a lot about MOST adapters and secret compartments, I did not have any issues at all.
Maybe because my original unit was an Audio 20 without CD changer?

I got an Atoto A6 (PF) with rear view camera running Android.
So far it does everything I need. I am not too much interested in sound quality. I think it is decent for my hearing. Most important for me is to use spotify, handsfree, maps and a rear view camera.

The installation did take a bit of work: I wanted to keep the secret compartment and decided to go with a 1 DIN frame and modify it.
Also I built a housing using the bottom panel of the orginal Audio 20. I wasn't able to figure out how to use the connection plates delivered with the head unit.

I simply disregarded the fiber optic cables. Mine had 2, but I think they didn't do much except activating the secret compartment.

The secret compartment now only opens manually, but I am pretty sure I can make it work again with a bit or rewiring, bypassing the fiber optics.

Atoto A6 PF incl camera - 230 Euro on Amazon Spain
CARAV 11-009-24-7 1-DIN frame and wiring harness - 30 Euro on Amazon Spain

Here some pics:

How do you manually open the secret compartment door? Are you just pulling on it and pushing it back down? I bought the little shelf piece but could never figure out how to get the door to open without everything in the MOST loop.

Exactly like that
I removed the motor.
I haven't got much use for it anyway, but I would like to figure out if I can get it to work.
If I have some spare time I am going to try to figure out the wiring between the button and the electromotor.

I assume the motor removes the resistance so it's fairly easy to rotate up then? Cool.
