I think that Mercedes change the brake fluid on early cars as a precaution since they have no idea how many brake applications there have been before they programmed in the counter.

E320 2003
Along with SBC a recall for water splash in front
I had the SBC recall done yesterday (May 2003 E320), 75 minutes, they did bleed the brakes and said the engine compartment had to be at 90 celsius to do part of the recall... Also said they would fix a 'grommet' in the front to keep the water from splashing up... whatever that was about.
