2005 S211 boot floor catch issue
My S211 estate has the storage compartment above the spare wheel.
id always assumed the spring loaded handle to lift the boot floor up was just a handle. However it has decided not to open when you lift the handle and I see there’s a key slot to lock the catch.
Today nothing happens when you lift the handle and it feels as if there’s a stuck catch
Anyone had this problem and how did you overcome it. I can’t picture what the mechanism looks like.

Solved - more or less
There’s a small spring loaded plastic catch goes into a slot at the edge of the wheel well recess.
Something in the storage tray was pushing the floor up slightly and the catch has some play, the rectangular handle you lift wasn’t able to free it.
All it needed was to push down on the boot floor while lifting the release handle
My worry had been that on the MOT inspection the tester usually looks at the spare wheel and the bodywork in the wheel well and might have bee unhappy about being unable to access it.
