creeking folding mirrors

I prefer to use the auto folding mirrors option when locking my car. However, they tend to creek like an old gate - rubber seals I guess. Has anyone experienced the same problem and found a solution? (apart form not folding the mirrors)

Guess this could be a common problem since I thought my car was the only one that sounded like that. The sound is so horrible coming from the folding mirrors I just cannot fathom how MB would release it like that to the public. Maybe some WD40 would get rid of the sound?

A well known problem. Use some silicone spray. Will help for a while. Also heard that DC came up with some stuff that will last longer.

Yes I get that creaking sound too. I don't mind it. At least when I'm walking away I know my car is locked when I hear the mirrors folding

I haven't heard a single W211 folding mirror yet that doesn't make some noise while folding...same goes for the W203 mirrors. It is caused by the rubber seal in between of the car and the mirror housing in combination with the NO-GAP fitment.
Personally I think it is fairly convenient as you can hear that the car gets locked without having to watch the blinkers blink when you walk away from the car...and not half as irritating as the "netherlands" beep...
