Dealers will sell new maintenance packages
OLD NEWS!
Mercedes-Benz is eliminating free maintenance during the warranty period beginning with the 2005 model year. Mercedes-Benz owners won't be charged for their first visit between 1,000 and 3,000 miles and the first tire rotation at 6,500 miles. After that, the customer pays for everything including labor.
NEW NEWS?
Dealers will sell new maintenance packages that, for example, range on a C-Class from $576 for two years to $1,312 for four years. Owners will receive a maintenance book spelling out what services are needed when.

Brand new literature just made available. You can request detailed info (includes pricing, so I’m told) from MBUSA 1-800-367-6372 - Literature.
It stands to reason that pricing will be competitive not unlike the extended warranty costs. Might be worth your while (anyone who is interested in purchasing) to first contact Lisa Lehrbaum - liamairechico@yahoo.com before visiting your local dealership. Reason being, Lisa usually offers discounts for the MBUSA Extended Warranty (so often discussed here on the forum) so wouldn’t the same hold true for MBUSA Maintenance Packages? Before emailing, I would first wait to receive MBUSA literature so you know all details and choices available.
As a matter of reference, Lisa’s quote for a 2005 E320 CDI; 3 Years/100,000 miles $2090.
