Just a cheap electric pressure washer. I'm sure one of the gas powered big boy pressure washers could damage it. It really doesn't take a lot of pressure to remove most of the buildup. Just be sure to wash from the back.
I just had oil leaking into there from the turbo for a while so I don’t think it’s just I think the oil that burned onto there also had buildup
Yup that's exactly the problem I had. It would clogg up the DPF and trigger limp mode. Pulled the DPF, washed l, cleared codes few times before finding the leak. Good times.
Did you have to replace any muffler gaskets? I noticed when I was underneath there was an exhaust leak before the DPF filter but I wonder if that was because of all the back pressure because it’s clogged. So really all you did was pressure wash it? Did you pressure wash towards the flow of exhaust or against the flow of exhaust?
