Hi all
I've bought and W211 320CDI from 2003.
It is an older taxi, but drives amazing. But! Something is tapping the battery, and i'm pretty sure it is the CD changer, because I can hear it and after removing the fuse, there is no problem.
Is there a chance that I would be able to remove the CD changer and just give it a Fiber optic loop?

Yes you can, but you need to leave it powered, else the buttons on the front dont work. After putting in a fiber loop, you also need to disable it in the computer, so the MOST controller knows it isn't part of the fiber loop.

Damn.. I thought it would be easy 😅 so what would you suggest - Fiber loop or new cd changer?

Fiber loop, I also fiber looped unnecessary things out of it. I dont use the cd changer/navigation unit etc. I have an Autel, so I can do most of the changes/coding in the computer myself

Well I don't use the CD changer or the navi, but I do use the teleaid (if thats the real name), my phones connected to the Bluetooth - thing :-)

2nd hand units are generally available at low cost from wreckers if you dont want to go down the android path. They are plug and play if replacing with the exact same unit.
