Fitting front bumper XY Lip on Non-AMG front bumper

Hello! I can't understand why wouldn't the front lip (In the second photo) fit in the front bumper of the (1st photo). At least that's what the websites say, they look very similar.

Search for bumper pictures, compare AMG vs stock, and you'll notice that low middle section is resecced on an AMG bumper, whereas stock is just curved. That's the reason it won't fit.

So I assume only in the middle of the bumper there will be a small gap? Other than that on the sides it's the same size?

No, other way around, gap would be on the sides, as the section that is recessed on a bumper, protrudes on a lip, making contact first on a non-AMG bumper. And looks like the AMG bumper is wider, too, so it would huge amount of trimming to make it fit.

But it still looks doable? I mean if I cut the lip and in the middle to make it shorter and then glue it again, then I will paint it so the line from the cutting won't be visible. Wouldn't that work in theory? Really want this lip

Well, everything is doable. Is it wort it? Maybe, maybe not. It's hard to say how much you'll need to trim, cut and glue before you have the part on hand.
I've learned over the years that all the time and effort you spend on modifying part, you might as well start from scratch.
