Mileage: E320CDI vs C320 Wagon
Driving a loaner now...day 2. That was long...picked it up on Wednesday, back for service the following Tuesday!
Anyway, driving on the same routes at the same time of day and in the same weather...routes that got 30-31 mpg in the CDI are in the 22-24 mpg range in the C320.
Lowest in the CDI has been in bumper-to-bumper traffic: 24-25 mpg. Over the same route the C320 did 19-20mpg. Now it wasn't possible to ensure that the C320 faced exactly the same traffic, although my subjective evaluation is that the C320s traffic was lighter.

P.S.
The C320 is nice enough, and the wagon has a roomy rear seat and sufficient storate. However the seats in the C320 are AWFUL. At least this '04 model. And for '05 the wagon is only available with the 2.6l motor.
