I have a 2005 e320 CDI that has had a new ABS module installed and fixed the stop light sign but the car still continues to go into limp mode. ABS, ESP, and Check engine light all come on and the car goes into limp mode and tight steering. The car has a new brake light switch and sensors. All done by the shop so may not be OEM and that could be the issue?? The car has been to a mercedes dealer several times and a private mechanic. The last mechanic pulled codes from it and they are 2513, 2209, 2241, 2227. But no one has been able to fix the issue. The dealer installed a new ABS module and bled the brakes. The private mechanic doesn’t feel comfortable messing with it due to not being familiar with older Mercedes. Can someone please help me get this freaking thing fixed because I am out $1,200 and still no fix.
You need to get a scanner that can read MB specific codes. The Mercedes dealer should have had that and figured out what was causing those codes. Usually I'd suggest an Autel AP200, about $50 on Amazon. Your issue could be more serious like a central gateway failure or ECU or SAM. A Launch Creader Elite 2.0 for Benz might be better, about $160 on Amazon. Also when you fix those things, normally you clear out the old codes which you could do with the Autel.

I second that! SCANNING is the best way to query faults from the chassis computers.
OP either need to find a honest MB specialist shop or a busy dealer.
Doing brake work requires you trust YOUR OWN DOINGS and while learning, that's not a given. ESP may need to be programmed more appropriately. If dealer did that already then that needs a re-check for a small fee including complementary oil change.... "Even - Steven".
Limp-mode may be tranny or Key or Ignition or Sifter.
