2007 E550 power steering pump

We have a really bad noise coming from what I believe is the power steering pump. The fluid level is fine. I've seen videos on how to tackle this job but not for a 5.5 liter.

Anyone have a reference or tips that would help....Im researching as I type.

Thanks!

UPDATE...Its the AC compressor pulley.

By passed the ac compressor as I read to do and the whine went away so I am glad we figured that out but Im reading conflicting info on what to do ?

replace the ac pully or replace the whole compressor?? The ac blows cold so hopefully there is a way to just replace the pulley ...if that would work?

Thanks!

if you were smart you would change out the complete compressor after checking the prices of each

why? I do not feel like messing with Freon .. it’s easy enough to get to if we need to swap it out later.

He means the pulley is unnecessary expensive and quite close in value to the compressor, if the pulley failed the compressor is probably gonna fail soon as well. And you’re gonna buy a new compressor that already has the pulley. The labor is surely less than for a compressor though, but depending on the mileage of your car might as well to the compressor.

Where at? From what I’ve seen the pulley was always around 200$…
