Ambient footwell lighting color?

What color is the ambient lighting on the W211? In my e46 it is redish/orange that shines down on the center console... same with the 2000+ ML. I was just wondering what color the console ambient lighting color and the footwell ambient lighting color is... is the footwell same color as the console ambient lighting?

The footwell lights in my E class are white, but they are dimmed way down, so thaty have a bit of a yellowish color to them. They light up bright when the doors are opened. THe front footwells light when the front doors are opened and the lights under the front seats light when the rear door are opened.

There is a yellowish light shinning down from the rear view morrow and little lights of the same color in the door handles. They are all controled by the dimming setting in the MFD. At least that is what I noticed.

i am talking about the ambient footwell lighting.. not the footwell lights that light up when you open the door. I am trying to find out if it is a seperate LED(s) that ambient lights the footwell or if it is the regular interior light running at a dimmed level. Reason being is that I am retrofitting something similar on my BMW.

The light in the footwells is the interior light. I have not opened the lens to see if it is a different light, but I would be willing to bet you that it is the same buld, but it is just dimmed.

Whichever one is available (1 of 5)
Footwell lights and ambient footwell lights are the same lights. I personally checked both the front and the back, and I had posted about this a couple of months ago. The ambient lights are the courtesy lights just turned down dimmer once the doors are closed.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone been able to change the overhead ambient lightbulbs with clear/white ones? Just wondering if it's possible...

yes it can be done, it will require you to dissassemble the rear view mirror and purchase a different LED to solder into place. PM me if you want a white LED.
