I have been trying for days to remove the passengers side front axle from my 2005 E500 wagon. Been pulling with a very heavy duty puller, it moves a bit in and out of the differential but refuses to pull out. Does anyone know if I can remove the front differential with the end of the axle still in it. Or any better ideas, my wife wants her car back.

You've probably tried it, but what got mine out was having a helper put tension on it by pulling steadily outward while holding the axle, taking the weight off it, while I hit the slide hammer puller. Pop!
