Replace rotors at 27k miles sound right?
The nice brake wear indicator light came on on my wifes E500. Pretty cool I thought, until the dealer calls back saying I have to replace all 4 pads and front rotors....cha-ching!....this is my 3rd Benz and 4th BMW and it's the first time I had to replace rotors with so little miles on a German car or any car for that matter.
Anyone else experience rotor wear so early?

27K is not unheard of, and remember the W211 is a pretty heavy vehicle. Be glad that you don't have to replace two rotors and EIGHT pads, like some W211 owners.
Good news is that the job should not cost too much (especially if you could do it yourself and still deactivate the SBC), and if the dealer tries to tell you it is over $1000, tell him that is way ridiculous. A lot lower than $1000 is where it should be (I don't know the cost of the parts for your particular car so I can't estimate, but the labor should be under two hours--maybe some of the others have already had brakes done and know the parts cost).

$788 for front/read pads and the front rotors...when I pushed back and told them I would get 2nd opinion on rotor wear they call back and said it was a recommenction and the rotors still had some life and we should just watch it...so that left me with $485 for all the pads.

I have a clk and I changed mine at 30,000 miles. Cost a total of 800 bucks. This is all pads and all rotors. Although I was told that the rear brake rotors last up to 60,000 however. I will see next time I change my brakes.
