My 2004 E 320 has the attached command. It was working well until I connected an AUX cable to device last week. So, command doesn't open when engine starts for almost a week. I drive a few miles then it works.
Some findings:
- Battery voltage seems good.
- Auxilary battery is new.
- There is no electric leakage.
What happens when you disconnect the AUX cable again? Just for testing if the issue is somewhere related to that cable
Actually, this will be one of the last steps that I was going to try. Since It is a lot of work to disconnect it since the cable is behind command. I need to unmount gear stick cover, fire lighter part, cd changer, command and I dont want to lose my cable because it is very useful. I am pretty sure that command was working fine. It is definitely related with the cable connection but why? Is it something like short circuit or electromagnetic field?
Might also be related with some other cables on the back of the Command unit, when you have been working on it
Well, this is good point. While working on it, I have seen some red, yellow, cables hanging out behind command. Those cables were belong an android unit from previous owner. Do you think those cables cause this?
Hard to say, but could very well be, who knows...I don't like cutting up/modifying original wiring. Because the Command unit is such an integral part of the car, I made the decision to keep it original in my CLS55
