I know these cars call for premium, which is anywhere from 91 - 93 octane. Given the choice, would 90 non-ethanol work? I know about knock and octane. I have also run mid-grade in my BMW’s (e46 and e39) without issue. Is it the same for E500’s? Just curious because there’s a station near me that sells non-ethanol for around the same as 93 ethanol and it’s the only station near me that sells something higher than 89 non-ethanol. It’s a Citgo brand station; usually I use Shell.

Thoughts?

Try it out and maybe check measurements (knock sensors, fuel trims etc). You can always add bio ethanol yourself, I did that in the past with another car. It was mapped on E98 with 7L bio ethanol,

E320 and E500 do just fine on 87 octane.
