Hi Wobbles,
When I think back to high excited you were about taking delivery of the car it just does not seem fair!!!

You have had more, 'Shake, Rattle and Rolls" than Bill Haley and the Comets!! He might be U2's grandfather

I thought they fixed your squeaky seat??

What is Orange and sounds like a Parrot???

This is a good 'un!!!

My wife just does not appreciate my sense of humour

A very cool sunny afternoon in Torquay

A completely mixed bunch of reviews. Guess we'll have to testdrive a high mileage example to test the car's true build quality. I can tell you, I am very disappointed that this is so, I still can't believe the most amount of new registered cars in the UK are Mercs!

2003 E500 - no rattles whatsoever at 12,000 miles, even on Chicago's less-than-optimum road surfaces. I have always been very aware of any squeaks, rattles, etc. in my cars and can honestly say I'm very happy with the integrity of the W211.

Hi glojo

Yeah, they fixed ONE aspect of the squeak symphony on the driver's seat, but more have stepped forward to fill up the silence. And it can't be due to my 79kg weight (heck, I weighed more when I drove a Honda, way back when, and THAT never so much as gave me a peep).

It's just my bad luck, I guess... Some of you guys here have reported a perfect car. Me, after 3000km, I'm driving a bone-shaker...

... I hope the workshop can perform miracles!

I would rather MB remove the almost useless storage underneath the seat, as I believe that is what seems to cause the most rattles, at least as far as the seat goes. My friend used to have a S, and the seats were designed very similarly, and he had to get it fixed several times over the three year lease period.

I use the storage under the seat a lot. I really like it.

I also like the seat storage. I use the one for the first aid kit and the other has my umbrella and a mini ice scraper. I also think that these are inconspicuous, most thieves don’t know that they exist. Hence, it is a good storage place.

Is the umbrella used by you to protect ladies from getting there hair wet?

Please forgive my cheekiness?

Spot the baby?

John,

It looks like Torquay, England is getting more and more exotic (judging by that picture)! The umbrella is for ME, she can fend for herself!

Chivalry is over, unless they are loaded with money, have no relatives and are about to die.

No rattles here either. My W210 still feels like new. So does the W211. The W210 does however feel a bit more solidly built. The door construction is "meatier" and heavier. However, the W211 is quieter and more refined.

How do the headrests come out? There doesn't appear to be any clips or snaps when the headrests are fully extended. I'm having a rattle problem with the passenger headrests. Otherwise the car rattle free.
