ok im struggling with getting the "sub-oil pan" on without any leaks - im using the black gasket maker - am i doing something wrong every time i put it on its leaking from one point
does ANYONE make a gasket for this sub oil pan? i find it crazy that mercedes doesn't make one....its such a mess
I have not had to deal with oil-pan, or oil leaks on my W211 Bluetec to speak of so far, but had a little leak at the crankcase pressure control or bleeder valve due to ruptured diaphragm several years ago, so it's obviously unrelated to what you are dealing with!
You said you are using "the black gasket maker".
That does not mean much - could be almost any black RTV?
There are special Permatex / Locktite brand sealants made for this type of application, but the main thing is to make sure both surfaces are clean and free of any oil.
