Door is heavy, wiper, and engine clicking??

Hello guys, I have 3 questions with my car. Can you help?

Doors are heavy. Is this normal?
My friend always complains that my car's door is heavy. I didn't know what he talked about before, until today I went to an autoshow. I noticed several cars like Audi, BMW M3's doors. All I did was pulling the door very gently and the door seems like to have power to close itself. I noticed that my car didn't do that. Is this normal or just my car only?

How to make the wiper run smooth?
The glass is clean, today is a little rainy in the city. I turned on the wiper and the wipers make some noises as if they wipe dirt or something. Sometimes they left a residue in the edge and very hard to move.

Engine clicking...?
My engine makes clicking noises, it's not that loud, but surely it's annoying. It happens when the engine is still cold and at around 1500rpm. If the engine is warm enough, it's gone. Anyone knows? Should I bring this to dealer?

Thank you,

Hi,
Regarding the first question, I am struggling with understanding what you are saying, but anything that you believe is wrong then my on personal view is that it is wrong. Go back to the showroom try the doors on other E-class and satisfy yourself that you either have, or have not got a problem. If you decide that there is a problem, confront the salesperson, let him tell you there is nothing wrong and then drag them across to a vehicle you have previously tried.

When we first received our vehicle the doors had to be shut really firmly (slammed) otherwise they would 'bounce' off the door lock. The dealer tried to tell us that there was nothing wrong. :v It took the bodyshop 5 minutes per door to adjust them to 'perfection'.

Your windscreen sounds like it might have been polished?? It needs to be 'de-greased'

I have no knowledge in relation to your engine noise, but good luck getting your problems sorter.

Regards,
John

A common problem with the new type of blades, the windscreen must be kept grease free or just change the blades. It happens on my W211 and my freinds S-Class too and is very annoying.

Sorry for my ignorant, how can I de-grease the windscreen? What do I need to do it? Never done this before.

I've had some good luck using Invisible Glass.

Btw, try taking the wiper blades off the car and giving them a good cleaning with soap and water. Sometimes the wipers build up with dirt and other stuff which prevents the wiper from working properly.

I agree about re-checking the dealers other cars. But the doors should be smooth and have a solid feel.

The glass- I also use Invisible Glass- Works great- I also use Zaino Glass polish 1x every 3 mos to polish the glass Never a scrubbin noise.

What year of W211 do you drive, lpolo? The '03 models had frequent issues with wiper blades that would skip and chatter across the glass, or make really ugly noises. The dealers have improved blade assemblies that they will install under warranty.

The '03 models also had problems with bad motor mounts, that would cause a clicking noise. The solution, as I recall from previous posts, was replacement of the mounts at the dealer, also under warranty.

My car is 2004 W211. I'll check with the dealer this week. Hopefully they can do something about it. It rarely rains in Bay area and after having this car for almost a year, I just found out that the wiper makes some noise, left dirt/grease on some parts, and make worse noise. I'll try invisible glass as well. thanks for the input.

IMO, for the price paid for these cars after market products should not be needed to make the wipers work properly. TSB P-B-82.30/254 JUN03 Windshield Wiper Blade Noisy called for free replacement of both wiper blades however only up to VIN A218290. I would reference this TSB in a request for goodwill replacement.

Yes, true statement. I bought my E-500 as Pre-owned. The wipers were noisy as hell and chattered. I went to the Dealer and the lady at the Parts Dept looked stumped because there was more than one number. She used an educated guess and said that the higher number must supersede the old number.

Well it worked. The action is now smooth as silk. I am sort of pissed that it cost me $60 for a set of blades. WTF?
