self levelling s211 malfunction

hello i have a mercedes w211 (t model) wagon with the self levelling suspension on the rear which doesn't work i have the error messeage with the car rising and says malfunction and the bags ofcourse are empty and i have no idea wha the problem could be
the compressor does not run except when i put a + and - from a battery but still no air in the bags
i dont think its something that has happend due to wear i believe some previos owner wanted to lower the car that way so i think something is possibly unplugged but stil unsure because i have no idea where those possibly unplugged sensors are located

all help appreciated

Scan the codes. If you don't have a scanner, take it to someone who has MB specific code reader.
Luckily self level isn't as complicated as the AirMatic; compressor and two bags, level sensor, valve on both bags and on the compressor, and of course the control unit which is located under the passenger footwell.
You may have a burned up compressor, and/or broken bag, or leaky line.
