I,ve been havingegr code issues,I've claened the egr componetes and even replaced the egr valve and still the light returns. Where else should i look.I also have the srs light .

I recommend submitting the code numbers, do a bit of research, and possibly check lines for cracks, wear/tear and replace around engine. Ensure the EGR vavle is secure tightly, and you may (if not done already) swap out breather hoses for both sides. GL

Thank you foryour reply. I have an icarsoft MBV2.0 scantool. i will send the codes later.their is a diagram of the emissions system on the front drivers side engine compartment that lists all of the components but finding them is a different story. I will look for bad hoses and replace,again thank you.

hello mr plutoe i took your advice and checked vaccum hoses and found some dry brittle hoses,after changing the hoses and clearing the p0400 code the light never returned.now my 2006 E500 is getting better. I goal is to restore the car to its original condition or as close as i can .My next project is the replacement of aftermarket low beam bulbs,previous owner wired led aftermarket lights and hacked up the wiring.every body out their be careful when buying a used car,i don't know what else to expect.
