Thumbs up Nice Kleeman Boost for E200K

Wow! Looks like Kleeman K-Box + Pulley kit would make a stock E200K to near E320 specs. This is something serious...

Local Benzline is offering this for around S$3,500. What do you guys (with experience on Kleeman's products) think?

Kleeman K-Box

Stock E200K
Power : 163 bhp
Torque : 240 Nm

Kleeman K-Box + Pulley E200K
Power: 210 bhp
Torque : 300 Nm

Stock E320
Power : 224 bhp
Torque : 315 Nm

E200 Kompressor (sold 2008), BMW 7 series (2009), now waiting for the E63
Hi VBlaster_W211. I was pretty interested in the K-Box too, but my friendly neighbourhood mechanic told me the following bits of information that made me somewhat concerned:

(a) The K-box "reroutes" signals to and from the ECU - and this may cause some mis-firing, and may even interfere with other electronic controls of the car.
(b) The pulley system doesn't come with the proper cooling system.

Of course, my friendly neighbourhood mechanic's trying to sell me the OTHER pulley/coolant/chipping system that goes for considerably more, so I don't know if he's telling me half truths or whole lies, but it sure got me thinking a bit.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this matter

Cheers,
Wobbles

PS. The alternative system the mechanic was pushing claimed a top BHP of 240, with 340Nm worth of torque. Costs almost 10K more than the Kleemann's K-box.

That's with a larger intercooler? What's that? Vaeth kit? >$10K for such a mod is a too expensive..

I know one C180K M271 fitted with the K-Box. No probs thus far, more spirited driving experience.

My thoughts exactly (yes, it's the Vaeth kit) - S$13,888 for the works does sound a little expensive. Apparently, there's now a S$24K option too ... beats me how many more horses they can squeeze out of the 1.8L engine.

Are you keen on the K-box? I wouldn't mind coming down for a bit of a look with you - would be my first time at Benzline... drop me a PM if you're interested, and we'll see if we can firm something up

Time to revive this thread. Anyone else from Singapore interested in this?

I think there're 2 options now:

Kleemann kit from Benzline
Carlsson kit from Autovox

Still thinking bet the 2...

I drive a C180K (w203) and am interested in the KBox. According to Kleemann, it would increase hp from stock 143hp to 193hp. I am apprehensive about such mod cause i am worry about voiding the warranty.

K-box is piggy back. Just rip it off and return for warranty if you need to. But frankly, this is a very minor mod, equivalent to fitting e-manage or FCON SZ on Honda Integra and the likes - no big deal.

MBM Wheelpower just did a Carlsson-like pulley with Brabus ECU tuning on a CLK 200K today. Will wait to see their dyno results soon.

I also drive a C180K and was thinking about this - how can so much extra power be generated without changing the pulley ?? I always thought boost was controlled via the pulleys on a S/C car ??

From the website:

The pulley system also includes a new water pump pulley and drives belt to insure proper tensioning and long service life.
