the high pressure accumultor pressure is only released through the electrical actuation of solenoid valves within the unit. so it would be totally useless to pump the pedal.
anyway, to unplug, you simply have to grab the upper part of the large electrical plug. the part you grab is a bit hourglass-shaped. pull up on that part and this will release the plug and as you pull up, it will slide away from the SBC unit. once it is unplugged, the unit is totally inoperable and the pump will not run. here an important note: remove the key from ignition before unplugging the SBC unit, and leave it out until after you plug the SBC back in.
this should be done to avoid setting fault codes and having warnings display in the dash.
anyway, to unplug, you simply have to grab the upper part of the large electrical plug. the part you grab is a bit hourglass-shaped. pull up on that part and this will release the plug and as you pull up, it will slide away from the SBC unit. once it is unplugged, the unit is totally inoperable and the pump will not run. here an important note: remove the key from ignition before unplugging the SBC unit, and leave it out until after you plug the SBC back in.

What is the TSB # for the brake wear problem?
Is there a fix for the problem or just a free pad replacement?
Are there any other TSB's for the SBC brake system that you are aware of?
Have you heard if the 2006's will have a modified SBC system?

(211.026/065/070/082/083/265/282/283 up to 05/2004 production)
If you receive customer reports of the rear brake pads prematurely wearing and the rear brake pads wearing out prior to a warning message in the instrument cluster being displayed, replace the rear brake pads with revised parts.
Premature wear is defined by the rear brake pads wearing out quicker than the front brake pads.
Since only the inner brake pad contains a brake wear sensor, it is conceivable that the brake warning message may not be displayed if the outer brake pad wears out.
The variable power distribution of the SBC system applies additional force on the rear brake pad than a conventional braking system. This may cause increased and uneven levels of wear on the rear brake pads.
IMO it can be interpreted as saying that anyone who had their rear pads replaced, and paid shouldn’t have (which includes me). It specifically mentions a problem with warning / sensors and recommends revised parts.
(3) P-42_46-38 APR04 Brakes – Software patch necessary before bleeding system; P-42_46-32A JAN04 Brakes – Whistling noise when depressing brake pedal; P-42_46-27C DEC03 Brakes – Buzzing noise during SBC pressure build-up

I'm afraid I haven't any Info on the E350 brakes. It appears that they haven't changed.

FYI: This bulletin specifies "for information only” and does not mention warranty. As such MB maintains that pads and rotors are a maintenance item and will only be replaced free (as ninefourthree mentioned earlier) before 12000 miles.

Any advice for those of us unlucky enough to have a fault diagnosis related to sbc accumulator? Have you ever heard of these being rebuilt? Also, what's the amount of time needed to swap out an accumulator (not the entire sbc pump)?

You are confusing the hell out of us---there is no accumulator within the SBC unit---you have the control module and the hydraulic unit--------or are you talking about the Airmatic suspension system!!
