Too keep or not too keep
2006 E320 CDI with 260,000
Good morning,
We just did the injectors and found out we can't get an intake for the car which was coked up. This is the 3rd part in as many maintenance trips that we can't get from Mercedes.
How are yall doing with parts?
I wanted to keep this car to 1,000,000 miles but now I don't know

Find out the PN and try to find the part elsewhere. It's a shame that even cars built to last are purposefully being made disposable by not making parts available. I plan to keep all my cars for life and chose them for a reason but this whole disposable car thing is getting out of hand. I think at some point, there is going to be a big market for other companies to make more replacement parts for older cars if people keep trying to preserve them. I know there are already a lot of OEM replacement companies making certain parts but it would be great to have some more options for hard to find parts.

That's what they did in the end. It was another revelation regarding just replacing things instead of fixing. Just really concerned a hypothetical $20 part next month could total the car.
