Upgrading E320 Steering Wheel to E350 Buttons don’t work
Today I got a good condition used steering wheel off of a 2008 E350. After removing the old steering wheel off my 2003 E320 and putting in this new wheel none of the buttons worked. All the connectors seemed to work with each other fine and this new steering wheel doesn’t have any extra luxury features or anything so all the buttons are the exact same compared to the old steering wheel. I looked into it more and maybe I have to get a steering column that’s for a later model E-Class? And possibly re-wire the harness not too sure but I’d appreciate some clarification on what to do thanks.
I finished it awhile ago and forgot to give an update but I did do the swap successfully changing the wiring harness was a PIMA but all the buttons now work and haven't had any issues with it.
