Looking for pics with RS5 wheels

Anyone with a pic of a W211 with RS5 (authentic or replica) wheels like below (silver or chrome, any size)? What do people think of the idea of a set of 17 or 18" silver RS5's on a Black E320?

Why would you waste money on buying 17 inch rims?

I second that. 18" should be the minimum for an aftermarket show rim.

I like the style wheel a lot! However I would avoid Chrome. I am not a big fan of chrome wheels. However, you know what they say about Chrome:

"If it don't work, Chrome it!"

"Chrome will not make you go any faster, but it might get you laid"

Your choice in the end!

Alright Alright no 17's. Dayum! Just kidding, I was actually baiting a little w/ the 17" mention anyway. I would probably get 18".

C230, how many adjustments did your friend have to get with the 20's? I only know bits and pieces from MBWorld so I'd be relying on the dealer to do any necessary adjustments. I don't even know the ballpark figures for getting the wheels put on by the dealer. Thanks for your info, pics would be gravy.

I got the car in July, and I'm just trying to get my plans ready for the spring rebirth of the car. Nothing fancy just replacing the stock wheels and installing a CL style grill and flat hood ornament.

Chrome doesn't work for me either. Plus clean silver wheels turn just as many heads when driving thru the streets.

I really think buying anything less than 19 inch rims for a 4 door sedan as "big-looking" as the E is a bad decision.

I totally agree! But you know, there are still a lot of folks who love their chrome! But this is a matter of taste and taste is subjective. The wheel design though, is great! Go for it!

Also, Chrome wheels look nice until they start to weather with age. The Magnesium Chloride and other de-icers that they use on the roads here make it chip off and then they look very bad! Florida salt also made chrome chip. The chemicals get under the chrome layer somehow. On the other hand, if you just clean and wax normal rims, they last much longer (looking nice that is).

Really? You may be right. I just hear all the lowering, etc talk and it's seems more of a headache than pleasure. Plus does it make a difference in the elements? I tend to see more 19's and 20's from you lucky sob's in So Cal and Florida.

It's not just about turning heads. For example, I think chrome rims match black cars, especially E's, more than anything else.

I hear you. I'll keep digging thru any pics I can find as I get closer to making a decision but I've liked this style/color for a minute now.

Go 18. I Wouldnt go 19 unless you want to start memorizing the potholes in your area.

Another good thought. On weekend nights, I often ride the car thru downtown Philly. A couple cobblestone streets as well as the potholes which are the residue of a suspect city administration ( ).

What do you expect to pay for this rim? Where would you get it? Will it come in 18? I ask because I like it and might do the same...

Found a pic of a W211 with RS5 type wheels ... the wheels kind of protrude outward a little which I don't like:

Fortunately you found a pic before the purchase since they definitely do look different on. I found a basic five star on tirerack that I like (18") and it is really nicely priced ($199 each). It is the ASA ST3 Bright Silver Paint.

Looks just like the AMG 5-spoke 230s. But the price on this is over $500 a wheel. Nuts!

IMO those RS5 wheels look butt ugly on a W211. To me it is better suited on an SUV in 20 inches or bigger. Look into the RS6. Its another simple wheel but has more elegant spokes.

I was referring to the quote "Looks just like the AMG 5-spoke 230s. But the price on this is over $500 a wheel. Nuts!"

Nobody said anything about the AMG wheel being better. I have no idea where you picked that up... What I said was exactly to the price and design similarity which is why I used the quote functionality.
