2006 E350 4MATIC Wagon
‘07 E350 Ignition issue

I had searched a bunch of forums and similar topics and none of them list a resolution, so hoping someone might have some insight.

I have a 2007 E350 4MATIC Wagon with Keyless Go. When I use the ignition switch/EIS to start the car, there is a 2-8 second delay between turning the ignition to KL15 (on) and the instrument cluster lighting up. It also will sometimes not recognize the key being in the car when I use the Keyless Go feature. New key batteries in both keys and one key is one year old, dealer acquired, new primary and secondary batteries, and I had the EIS checked out by a reputable repairer; they found no issues. No faults being set anywhere in the ignition/security system.

I thought it might be the EIS due to the delay, but now I’m not sure, unless it was acting correctly when the place checked it out and it really is an issue.

What module sees the key with Keyless Go and could this be the issue if it’s not the EIS? I don’t have access to good electrical diagrams, unless someone here can point me in a direction. The key recognition issue is sporadic, but slowly getting worse and I just don’t want to be potentially stranded somewhere.

Thanks!
