Just wanted to know if this type of service is covered by MB or will I be billed for this?

Brake pads are a wear item and are not covered under warranty.

Yeah I figured as much...Oh well... One more question, I have about 2000 miles until my next scheduled service. Can I waite this long for the breaks or should I call MB right away to schedule this?

I am sorry if these seem like dumb questions, but this is my first MB.

Never a dumb question here.... Well maybe a few in the past.

I would go ahead and make the brake appointment now and tell them to do your scheduled service at the sametime. They should do this for you with no problem and its going to save you a trip back to the shop.

The MB Dealer will ONLY do the free scheduled maintenance if within 1500 miles of when the computer says it is due.

What do they charge, like $100 and hour for a break job?

Spoke with my MB service rep today and got a phone quote. I was told it would be about $260 just for the front, parts and labor.

Not true - my first FSS was due at 13K but the dealer did it (at no charge) at 10K... which matches that dealer's recommended maintenance schedule for the first maintenance (besides recommending oil changes every 5K).

Well I have about 2000 miles until my next scheduled maintenance, but I told my rep that I did not want to have to bring it in twice in such a short span of time so he told me that they would go ahead do the maintenance for me as well. But if not because of that I could only bring it in with in 1200 miles of when the computer says its due.
