It might strip the wax if you use their soap solution but the real benefit of using the auto dry is that you do not have to dry the car after the final rinse. If you are concerned about the wax, use a different car wash soap. But then try the autodry for the final rinse. I'm sure you'll enjoy the time you save using AutoDry.

I love that thing. I got it last spring and have used it nearly weekly since (weather permitting, I do live in NY). It shouldn't strip the wax, as most car wash soaps are designed not to. It's the use of non-car specific soaps, eg. dish washing detergent, that will strip the wax. It's amazing to watch the car dry itself when you do the final rinse. As far as I'm concerned, it paid for itself the first time I didn't need to dry the car.

I have not used this product personally, but from the responses I see on this thread I can tell you who used this product with "hard water." Even though it should work with hard water, hard water will cause it not to work correctly.
I still have unlimited car washing privileges at the old carwash I sold. If that ends I would consider this product. I just drove almost 2,000 miles in the last two weeks! Snow, sleet and thick mud! My car was so dirty when I got back home late Saturday that I drove straight to the carwash and hosed my car off with high pressure (about 1,100 PSI) water from every angle for 45 minutes. I never point the nozzle really close to the car, but I really clean in the wheel wells and under the car. I really have gotten spoiled with this and I find that the car dries very well since we have very soft water in this part of Colorado. Also, if I used this product I would have to clean my driveway on a regular basis. You would not believe the crap that falls off the car! I will try and post a pic of my really dirty car.
O, about stripping the wax, I believe the people who said that these products are not supposed to strip the wax. But like it was also said, don't use other soaps in it, otherwise you will strip all the wax off.
