Passenger Seat Belt Warning light and Chime won't turn off
When I am simply dropping someone off and they get out of the front passenger seat of my car while the engine is still running, the seat belt light and chime stays on, when I continue on driving. The airbag light turns on, signaling that there is no one in the passenger seat, but the seatbelt light and chime doesn't sense it. I have to put my car in park and turn off the ignition because it gets annoying.
Has anyone encountered this problem? thanks for any help

this is a pretty common problem. It has to do with a faulty pressure sensor in the seat, which needs to be replaced. I have the same problem, but it only happens to me when it's very cold in the morning. I need to have mine replaced also. If you search the forum under "chime," there should be 4-5 page thread on it.

But if the car thinks there is someone in the passenger seat, and there is an accident, it will fire the passenger side pretensioner and airbags, which you don't really want. Get it fixed first, then disable the chime if you want.
