Arrow Upgraded my bulbs tonight (pics, links, sizes, prices included)

Hey all-
Swapped out my City lights, Hi-Beams and Fog lamps bulbs tonight.
Extremely psyched with the outcome. I found a couple of old posts on these boards and that really helped me decide which brands to use, but most were lacking pictures to reference or links to sites where you can find good pricing on the replacement bulbs. So for anyone considering the upgrade I highly recommended it.

It's very late or actually really early, good night.

Nice! I can't find those bulbs anywhere in Adelaide....

I read on a site a while back that those 'fake xenons' or 'white lights' are not really as good for driving as they are for show. Apparently they produce a lot of glare but less visible areas. I don't know if thats fact....

Anyway, I'd change em if I could find em

Bluerascal,

Did you swap these new bulbs for the xenons, or did your E500 not come with the Bi-xenon kit??

Bluerascal,

So you just bolted the bulbs right on and it didnt require any adjustments with the vehicles wattage output or comp. settings?
Looks good!!
I might just do the same for mine. It's less expensive. Im just worried that the bulbs might burn out quick.

DiabloJoe/Marlin-

My car came with the upgraded Bi-Xenon lighting system I did not touch those, however the remaining 3 bulbs which consist of the City or "Driving" lights, high-beams, and fog lights all use standard Halogen type bulbs. I swapped out all the halogens for bulbs that closer match the color of the stock with xenon "look-a-like" bulbs which emit a color light closer to thar of the stock Bi-Xenon system. I used several peoples suggestions (I think one of which was Fastbuck) from this board on which xenon-like bulbs where a close match to the stock kits color, then just used several online searchs to find the best price for the bulbs I wanted. No harness upgardes where needed just pulled the old bulbs out and popped the new ones in.

Simple and easy.
Stay tuned tomorrow I'll be selling George Foreman's "Lean, Mean Grilling Machine"

I definitely like the fogs. I kinda like the yellowish stock city lights because they provide a nice contrast with the HID's.

BTW, thanks for the detailed info and pics!

I also agree. But if they burn out I might consider upgrading them.

Bluerascal, you're a Godsend *thank you, thank you, thank you!*

Do you have any idea though, if I wanted to change my stock Halogen low beam lights to Xenon look-alikes, which bulbs should I be looking at?

I'm ordering the same bulbs are you are, for my E-Klasse... I hope they ship to Singapore

Thanks so much for the piccies ... they're great!!

Great post. Ordered the city/driving lights, but I believe the fog lights are different for the W211 E55. Does anyone know for sure what size they take? I've checked 3 different sites and they've all given me a different bulb.

Does anyone know what bulb for the city lights actually is the closest to the 8000K Bi-xenon?
