Bump:
verb. bumped, bump·ing, bumps

To cause to knock against an obstacle.
To knock to a new position; shift: bumped the crate out of the way.

I usually see this term used in the classifieds more than anywhere else.... As touched on earlier, this term is used to get the thead back to the top of the forum list.... As time goes on and no one respondes the thread it will eventually end up at the bottom of the page.... So when the thread starter wants it to the top of the page again (and you must type something) the word bump is used....
