The alarm is standard on Elegance and Avantgarde, but not the motion sensors.

Each country tends to customise the standard fit to suit its market demands, for example, all cars here have Parktronic, automatic transmission and fitted phones as standard.
Well said John,
It concerns me that we are considered to have a high car crime rate, but what you say certainly makes sense.

Parktronic is an option over here so I ill get my own back and ask what that might suggest

I believe manual transmission is only standard on the 200K

The telephone or telephone kit is also another option you chatterbox you

Until you submitted this post I had assumed an Avantgarde was an Avantgarde. Thanks for letting us know.

Regards,
John

Aw man, sorry to hear that. I remember when I got my valuables taken out of my other ride. It's very unfortunate but look on the bright side, he didn't take away your MB pride.

^^^ thanks for the support, all

My poor car. I'm running around with some heavy duty plastic covering the window. The folks my insurance company use for glass use aftermarket stuff and they told me to come in @ 8:00 this morning.

When I got there - they told me they needed the OEM glass because the aftermarket stuff came out of the tracks. :banghead:

2 to 14 days for the OEM glass.

Mercedes all the way!
oh, this is the first time i knew there are differences in alarm systems across mercedes. my asian E-class has the motion sensors, but apparently no tow-away protection. overnight street-parking is unheard of here, so i guess there's no way to tow the cars away unless someone breaks down the house gates! :P
