Those who want to see how the car looks from the user manual can browse the on-line manual here:

Now we don't have to spend and get a S Class to get all the neat stuff.

On MBUSA it states there are 11 air bags, but the online manual only shows 9 including knee airbags.

Some consider the curtain airbags to be 1 large airbag per side that cover f&r seats, other consider them to be 2 airbags per side. Not sure which one MB is using, but that is likely the discrepancy.

"These go to Eleven"

Actually, the count is 11 for USA. The rear side curtains count as 1 per side as they are a continueous item front to rear. The US version get the rear side door airbags as standard while these are optional on the ECE version. No discrepancy, the US actually has 2 more.

2 - Front (steering wheel and dash)
2 - front side door aribags
2 - front seat pelvis bags (outboard portion of the front seat bottom L & R)
2 - side curtains (L & R)
2 - rear side door airbags (outboard portion of rear seat)
1 - driver side knee bag

"These go to Eleven" Kuddos if you know where that quote comes from...
