Canadian ETA? Interested in a E-COUPE 350
My 09 C350 4MATIC was totalled (still shocked about the loss) ... and now that the dust has settled Ive thought about deferring car purchased indefinitely .. up until MB Canada told me about the new E series coupe. Has there been any word on Canadian pricing and availability. Im assuming it would start at around 75 K ... is that a reasonable estimate?
I know Canadian vehicles include more standard features than American, but when I go to the MB website for the 09 models there is no premium or amg package. Will the E-COUPE 2010 350 come with keyless go or atleast have that as an option?

Do you already have the E-class prices out? If yes, then you can compare with the German prices for the 207 versus the 212. I guess it would be similar in the US and Canada in relative terms.

E Coupe for Canada
My understanding is that the first E Coupes will arrive for early July introduction.
Since MB Canada has announced that the E sedans will have the AMG Sport Package as a standard option, I would presume the same for the E 350 Coupe.
No info yet on pricing, but the 09 CLK Coupes are listed at $69,500 including leather, metallic paint and AMG Sport Package. My guess is the new E 350 coupe will be slightly higher in price.
Looks to me like it will be a stunning addition.

From my first MB in 1986 the Canadian S Class models were loaded with every luxury. The only extra was the orthopedic seat. These luxuries equated big bucks if dissected out as European options at the time.
The new 2010 E Class is coming soon from the way MB Canada is discounting the W211. A friend of mine bought a E300 4Matic with 18 inch wheels for little more than his C Class 260 a few years back without 4Matic. They are blowing out all the old models now in preparation for the W212.
The W212 front end is a replica of the Lexus GS430. I gues itt is time that the Germans started copying the Japanese!

There is definitely a lot of difference between European and North America Mercedes when it comes to equipment level. In Europe the brand is used for taxis and equipment levels are cop car like usually with steel wheels and to save fuel, manual transmissions and small displacement diesel engines (under 3 liters).

In absolute terms the Euro prices must be higher but that should work for both models.
They are not preparing for the 212, it has been on the streets about a month now. Must be some time since the last W211 was built.

I'm not sure what did you mean by referring to my post. Europe has all the models Canada and the US, you don't have to compare to the small engine models. In any case the question was about the C207 price relative to the W212. Both prices at any option level are available from European MB web sites (all options available in Canada are available in Europe, give or take features like Tele-Aid that do not work in Europe).

1) North American model selection is limited and usually loaded.
2) It is therefore difficult to compare prices. In Canada, a fully optioned showroom car is much cheaper then installing in a base car the extra items after delivery, if it is at all possible.
3) Prices are higher in Europe due to taxes and lack of competition. Canadian prices are higher relative to the USA due to the fact that MB Canada owns the most lucrative dealerships. This is particularly true in Ontario, the largest province.
You are right too about Europe getting most new models before North America. One recent exception is the Bluetec & Adblue diesel systems. They were on sale first in North America.
