MBUSA Website now has 2010 E Class
If that is the case it is damn CHEAP compared to how much it cost on a pre-'09 W211.
I think the "Sport Package" is more like 2/3 of the "pre-'09 321 AMG Sport Package". The other 1/3 comes in the "Wheel Package", and that costs $750 (which is still dirt cheap compared to the cost of the "pre-'09 321 AMG Sport Package").

One thing I don't get is why the "Driver Assistance Package" can't be combined with the "Wheel Package"? Does the AMG-style steering wheel and rims affect MB's ability to impliment "Distronic Plus + Pre-Safe Braking", "Blindspot Assist", and "Lane Keeping Assist"?

Well, I have yet to see a 2010 E-Class in person, much less one with the "Sport Styling" and "Wheel Package". From the pictures on MBUSA, the "Sport Styling" bumpers and trim LOOKS very similar to the ones in the pre-'09 AMG 321 Sport Package... BUT they could be different, or MBUSA posted the wrong photos corresponding to the "Sport Package" on the website (mistakes happen).
And I thought that the 321 AMG Sport Package cost $2,500 to add-on pre-;09 models... no? Maybe I'm confusing that price with something else...

EDIT: And yes, the 321 AMG Sport Package REALLY DOES help sell cars... it really helped sell me on the '09 E350 (been waiting for the 321 and updated Nav system to be "included" for years)!

Hmmmmmm... I wonder if the price changed from '06 to '08 (which is the year of my friend's E550). I'll ask him if he remembers how much the 321 was on his car... maybe I am mistaken...

On another note: I test drove 550 sedan today. Really impressed.
First negatives:
1. tires did not live up to car's power and suspension abilities. I took couple of sharp corners and while the vehicle was firm and stable, tires made a lot of noise. The car had AMG wheels, but I think those tires need to go.
2. someone mentioned that the cruise control shift was in the way of turn signal. It is true. I pushed it couple of times while changing the lane. I am amazed that Germans let this one through...really puzzling.
3. Air vents are too omnipresent. Silver color makes them stand out way too much. Essentially they attract too much attention.
Some Positives:
1. It is absolutely true that the car feels entirely different in person. It is big and very aggressive.
2. The back lights did not feel "asian" to me at all. Especially with US tags in the middle. They are stunningly complex. When lit up they are gorgeous. Also, you will notice that their surface is not flat on the side. You will find a raised line that is parallel to the Pantoon lines on the body. Overall, I thought that the side of the car was attractive, intricate and with purpose.
3. They had one car in Capri Blue inside the dealership. At first I thought that the car was black. Only from about 3 feet you will see that it is in fact deep, gorgeous blue. With Almond Beige two tone interior it was a looker.
4. Navigation/Entertainment system is great. It is intuitive and super easy to operate.
So, all in all 4.5 out of 5 on my sensory scale
Let's see what they come back with numbers wise

3. Air vents are too omnipresent. Silver color makes them stand out way too much. Essentially they attract too much attention.
3) is a matter of opinion but I would tend to agree with you.
By the way, the W212 options do not appear absolutely independent from each other (as far as it could be, like on older models) for European buyers either although most are still completely independent and packages consist of a few features and there are sevral of thes small packages. Nothing incremental like P2 over P1 etc. I can still find some flaws from the buyers point of view, Distronic was part of a package that included things I would not want to buy, for example.
Anyone every figure out an answer to this? Thanks.
