Yeah that sucks. I'd take it back asap and demand new lights. After a year or so of that, those lights are gonna get all crusty and fogged, giving your brand new E-Class elements of a 10 year old car from the front.

No prob. Don't even let them BS you, that is totally unnacceptable. If they give you any guff, try and speak directly with MB USA. I'm sure they don't want little and disconcerting problems like this connected to their new E's.

If it's a lease, you're in even better bargaining position! Tell them to fix it or give you a new car. No negotiation on this. Totally unacceptable.

Looks like you have a hole some where on the headlights.
It should be on warranty, take it back. They should fix that for free.

Keep us posted on what happens. I wonder if this will be a common problem with the headlights or if you're just an unlucky one with an early production model issue/random issue.

First of all, take a deep breath and calm down. It's condensation not oxidation and it's not normal. First, try running for an hour or so with your headlights on and see if they dry out. If they dry out, then see if it comes back after the next rain. If it does, take it to the dealer and they will replace it under warranty. Your car has a four year warranty so no need to hurry.

I had a little condensation in one of my headlights once, it went away and never came back. I also had a foglight that wouldn't clear up and was replaced under warranty.

I wouldn't get worked up about it. I had condensation in one of the headlight assemblies on my 5 Series when it was 2 years old. Dealer replaced the entire unit under warranty no problem. These sealed units should not leak. When they do, they're toast and should be replaced.

Had same problem in our 07 C230 that was leased. Every morning after a cool night, there would be condensation in the head lights. Lol, never got it fixed since car was being returned in a month after I noticed it. Yours isn't that bad actually. On the C230, the entire face of the head light had condensation built up.

Man, if I was Leasing a car, I gotta say my stress levels would be WAY down. I probably wouldn't even care to fix anything unless it became too big of a problem.

Unfortunately for me, my Car was a CPO that came off a Lease, I can only hope the guy before me didn't have the same feelings toward a Leased car that I probably might.

Problem is, if you neglect a leased car while you have it, you may get to pay for the repairs at the time you turn it in...

True ^^. I didn't mean I'd neglect it at all actually, I just wouldn't be as "OCD" **** as I am about my car/s that I usually plan to keep. I'd let it get washed at a regular wash, not wax it more than once a year or so (maybe not at all ), not care if it sat outside for too long.... You know, all the things normal people who aren't whacky car obsessed idiots unlike myself do.

I shouldn't promote that attitude, as I'm sure most cars I'll be buying will be continue to be 1-2 year old models that just got off of Leases.

Friend of mine was leasing E350 for 39 months and never changed oil.
He didn't do it because he just don't have time to go to the service to drop the car. Car returned, no any charges to him......The car had about 40K miles on it. I feel sorry for the next owner... s**t happens...

fwiw, several years ago I bought a used Volvo as an all around daily beater type car. It was a lease return. I noticed that a company called Data Scan was contracted to do the lease return process (I found a small sticker on the windshield that said Data Scan and a reference number.) I went to Data Scan's website and found out I could search using that number and/or the VIN.

To make a long story short, Data Scan makes a full report of the lease return condition, the extra charges, and PHOTOS. I plugged in a bunch of Volvos coming off lease and they ranged from well-kept and serviced to trashed.

One of the trashed ones had never changed the oil and the photos noted the sludge build up on the oil fill cap. The car was abused.

And guess what? That same abused car was later on Rusnak Volvo's lot in Pasadena. All shined up and detailed, ready to sell to some poor unsuspecting buyer. I feel bad for the person who bought it.

Cars are just another commodity to mfgs and dealers/used car sellers.

Too later, I have changed oil. A good lesson, no oil change on next lease.

Back on topic, condensation is a common issue for BMW as well. Dealers replace lamp assembly without questions.

You should have sent that to the owner of Rusnak with his commercials about "every car has my name on it". I know people who will buy a car from rusnak or the auto gallery just to say they bought it from there. People are so vain.

Ya, I know A LOT of people that lease cars and don't regularly maintain it at all. I knew a girl with a Lexus IS250 who wanted to get a Porsche 911 lease. I told her "what about all the regular maintenance. it's not like a lexus, bmw, or mb. you have to really take care of it." She replied "it's a lease, i won't even change the oil. Is that really that bad?" I really wish they would penalize these kind of people to punish them from leasing cars and treating them that bad.

That's idiotic. You'd think the Car Company's would be able to monitor and ensure at least the cars were getting properly maintained.

Also, not to mention, nobody Renting (Leasing) a car will put the required Gas in it.

Call me an a$$, but I wish Leasing didn't exist. It would make expensive cars more exclusive, as less would actually be able to afford it, and would promote a sense of care for their cars.

That's the way it used to be. Even in these days you'd think people would at least respect the car for just being a nice piece of machinery if anything.

But without cars as disposable objects, the auto industry (as we know it today) would disappear off the planet.

It seems only about the product in the context of units being sold and making stockholders happy and CEOs wealthy.

It tempts me to get into car collecting. And to truly appreciate well-made cars for their history, provenance, design, and engineering.

I don't like leasing either, but that's how these companies make money. They always have you stuck in a payment and always keep you coming back every 2 to 3 years for a new car. New deposit, more work for the service dept to bill to manufacturer, always new cars being taken off the lots, etc. If you buy a car, generally, the dealership will not see you for quite a few years. Lol, I had a woman come in with her mother for a remote she needed for a car alarm we had manufactured back in 1992 that was on her mother's car. It was 1 of 3 of the 1st models our company had manufactured and it still works flawlessly according to her. As a seller of a product, that makes me very proud that my product still works. I think companies these days build products purposely that will not last as long as comparative products did back in the late 80's or early to mid 90's, especially with electronics such as tvs, cell phones, radios, car alarms, etc. The point of this is turnover, always get the customer to come back to buy something new. I have tvs that were built in the early 90s that still work. How long do you think these flat screen plasma tvs will last???

I'd be so into being a collector. Good thing about me is, I can appreciate so many types of cars, I wouldn't even have to be so "loaded" to start. I can think of a quite a few cars I can buy right now and enjoy the hell out of. My main issue is space, as I don't live in a House. One of these days though....

The auto industry indeed would lose lots of $$ without Leasing. Would be nice if what I mentioned was a reality though, I think cars would be less of disposable objects to people, and you'd really believe someone driving a nice car was financially well off, as these days, anyone with a barely decent enough job, and a low enough overhead, could afford to Lease a M-B/BMW/Etc.
