Congrats. It looks like dealers are starting to negotiate on price for E350 models now that winter is coming.

You call $5K drive off - $699 a month better price than before - so what was before - $8K drive off ?
I think it's still way too high. It will take another 6-8 months for prices to go down, if the banks will have good lease program.

I leased my E in 2008 with nothing down, but bank fee and MV fees for $590 a month - 27 months 10K a year....

with all due respect to your wonderful vehicle, a 2008 lease was on a model that had been around for 10 years. Naturally programs will always be in the manufactures and banks favor when releasing a brand new product.
that being said if you do the calculations, anytime we're under invoice or at invoice it's a fantastic deal.

Forget about vehicle. What I'm saying - it's very expensive to lease these days....and it's not only MB..I have friends who leased Lexus or Audi and payments are way too high compared to 2 years ago....
It's sucks...

P.S. who told you he's under or close to invoice ? I didn't see it on his post...

you're right. agree 100%.

the tightening of standards on lending as well as automobile financing groups wanting to take less risky investments(depreciation & residual rates are always a gamble depending on where the market goes during the term) are making it way less easy on the consumers pocket in terms of lease value.

I'm in my new e350 cause it was $48 MORE a month to lease the 2010 Range Rover Sport 36 months vs. 60mo finance.

You're correct. However just a small "fix", in '08 the W211 had been out for 6 years

I stand corrected. My apologies.

look, bottom line, lets hope this stupid economy turns around so we can all be doing 0 down $499/mo leases on the E63AMG this time next year.

2009 E350
I don't follow lease rates for cars because I've never leased a car before but I know for business equipment, right now lease rates are pretty attractive because companies aren't making capital expenditures. Maybe my logic is off but I'd imagine that if car sales are bad due to a poor economy as well, that manufacturers would want to have attractive leases to move cars?

Regarding paying under invoice for 2010 E class, I get these email advertisements regularly and here's what came yesterday. Nice to see these $2K below invoice.

2010 Mercedes Benz E350 sedan, black exterior, black interior, Premium package P1, sports package, Stock #100067
Original MSRP: $53425
Internet Price: $48257

2010 Mercedes benz E350 coupe, steel grey exterior, black leather interior, sports package, Stock #100115
Original MSRP $51595
Internet Price: $46846

Call to this dealer and try to lease those vehicles using this price. They won't do it. I don't know why, but it doesn't work with lease now.

That's from Long Beach MB. What's interesting in my experience with dealers here in SoCal is that I like the smaller dealers. The ones who say they're the world's largest or 2nd largest, I don't click with. I actually dislike those big ones. Just not my cup of tea in personality.

Congrats on the new car. Just wondering what you think of the 6 cylinder engine. Enough power, or kind of weak? I know it's still pretty new but I am just wondering what your initial impressions are?

Thanks!
