Does anyone know of any cool hacks for the new E class?
I don't think it's worth it, especially since it totally disables navigation while you're driving... In fact, I didn't care about Video in Motion. I just want my damn navigation to work while I'm driving.
Wow that's exactly what I was worried about. The main reason I want the thing unlocked so bad is the god damn NAV thing, and I wasnt sure if the kit allows us to do that or not. Guess its out of the question.
"Installation is pretty simple depending on your experience. Anything that you can only do in park, you will be able to do in motion with our piece."
Sounds like this thing just bypass the whole VIM system, or at least is fooling it. But for the price... I gotta admit the thing sounds very tempting tho.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think it lets u use the navigation while driving. In fact, I think it completely disables the navigation while in motion. They're not too expensive, so some brave person might wanna give it a shot and let us know.

EDIT: From what I can remember, Mercedes in Taiwan never offered navigation in any of their model, so maybe thats why you got this info?

They both say the Navigation doesn't work at all while the VIM kit is active, and it takes about 15 seconds for it to start working again, even after deactivating the VIM. They're using it on 2009 models and are using the $470 kit from Midwest Engineering. I don't know how different that is from the eBay kit and how it works on 2010 models. If you try it, please let us know how it goes.

I have a 2010 E550 Sedan and bought the kit from Mid City Engineering and I must say this kit is amazing. It allows the user to use the navigation and DVD while in motion. The install is quite simple as I did it myself.
1- Remove the command from the dashboard, and find the hard disk.
2- Remove the hard disk from the command (need to park it previously??)
3- Connect the hard disk to your PC
4- Find the boot file or the file that controls the speed from Video
5- Edit the file (Excel?) and change the speed
6- Save the file changed
7- Reconnect the Hard Disk to the Command
8- Insert the Command into the Dashboard
Can someone confirm this?
Did someone try this?
ALSO - VERY VERY IMPORTANT -
DON'T GO SENDING IT A BUNCH OF TIMES. Because every time you send an address it gets queued in your Mercedes navigation, and if u send too many, it'll take forever to download all of them. Don't say, I didn't warn u.
